Interactive IBD Trivia Session

Session Objectives:

  • Deepen understanding of advanced therapeutic strategies for managing Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, including the latest biologics, small molecules, and combination therapies.
  • Evaluate emerging diagnostic tools and biomarkers to improve the accuracy of IBD diagnosis and monitor disease progression, with a focus on endoscopic, radiologic, and serologic methods.
  • Enhance knowledge of personalized treatment approaches for IBD patients, considering factors like disease severity, comorbidities, and individual response to therapy for optimal long-term management.

Dr. Daniel Green is a staff gastroenterologist at Lakeridge Hospital and holds an academic appointment of Assistant Professor of Medicine at Queen’s University.  He also serves as Division Head, Gastroenterology for the Lakeridge Health Corporation. 

He completed his gastroenterology training at the University of Toronto and a fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at St. Michael’s Hospital.  In addition to his expertise in general gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy, he has an interest in clinical research and is the Principal Investigator for several Phase III studies in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and various other gastrointestinal conditions. 

He is the Medical Advisor for the Durham East Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada and serves on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Association of Gastroenterology as its current Vice President.

He has won several competitive funding awards and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.
