Alan Barkun is full Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at McGill University. He is recipient of the DG Kinnear Chair in Gastroenterology, holding a medical degree and an MSc in epidemiology and biostatistics. Recipient of many national and international awards, Dr. Barkun has published over 800 peer-reviewed articles and given over 600 national/international presentations on digestive endoscopic technologies, with an emphasis on methodological, clinical and cost-effectiveness trials in upper gastrointestinal bleeding, bilio-pancreatic diseases, colorectal cancer screening, and artificial intelligence in colonoscopy. He is Chair of the Quebec colorectal Cancer screening implementation committee.
